Taking a little "Maternity Leave"

I'm taking a short "maternity leave" while I wait for my little one to arrive! Thank you to those who are still contacting me and showing interest in placing an order for your wedding stationery, but I would hate to get in the middle of an order and have to put you on hold. So for now my Etsy Shop is temporarily closed. I will be back open and taking new orders on January 1st, 2011 so if you are still in need at that time be sure to contact me, because I'd love to work with you. Happy Holidays to everyone!

Heavy Duty Metal Paper Cutter for Sale!

Are you in need of a heavey duty metal paper cutter for scrapbooking or cardmaking? I've just upgraded to a larger version to use for all of my wedding stationery making, and I'm selling this little guy on ebay. It is 10" x 11" made of metal, stores well, and works great! I used it for two years and it was perfect. It was simply time for an upgrade to do all of my large orders. What I'm Working On... A Custom Request

I'm working on a first-time project. This is a custom requested "information booklet" that a bride in North Carolina will be giving to her wedding party and out-of-town guests. It is a new take on the booklet-style ceremony programs I have on my Etsy Shop. It contains a total of 8 pages of what will be going on for the entire wedding weekend: where to be when, what events are taking place each day, important phone numbers and addresses, directions, and more. The first page welcomes everyone with this message:

"Welcome to Greensboro! Thank you so much for coming to share with us in this
special celebration. We can't wait to see you all, and hope you find the enclosed
helpful as a guide for the weekend festivities."

Latest Program Project

I am showing some love to this lucky little wedding program. Out of all the wedding stationary that I have done for brides, and that I have had for sale on my Etsy Shop, this has hands down been the favorite design chosen by brides. I just got a sixth order in for these programs, and have many people asking about them every day. A couple other design requests have come in, but this one still proves to be the favorite. Pomander Balls - A Wedding Bouquet Alternative

Pomander balls are a great alternative to the traditional wedding bouquet, and a fun way to mix things up. They could also be used as decoration (hanging at the reception above the dance floor, or along the aisle at the ceremony). Below are some I did (using artificial flowers) for a wedding party. This is what they all carried down the aisle on the wedding day...

This one's not my work, but another cute idea: use pomander balls for the flower girls to carry...

A "Fruity" Centerpiece Idea

Keep things cool this summer by using fruit for your centerpieces. It will be a modern alternative to flowers or candles, the colors are perfect for any summer theme, and it will give the guests a fresh piece to observe while enjoying the reception festivities.

On A Personal Note - Baby News!

I don't usually blog about my personal news... but I'm just too excited not to share this with everyone! My husband and I are super happy to announce that we are expecting our first little bundle of joy - due to be here on December 9th. Looks like I won't be doing too many December weddings this year :)

Ever After Banquet Hall in Hastings

I just attended a beautiful wedding reception held at the Ever After Banquet Hall located in Hastings, Michigan. This is a place I can now say I would first-hand recommend! The set up was stunning, the food was delicious, and the staff seemed organized and polite. Guests seated anywhere in the banquet hall can get a clear view of the dance floor, and there is plenty of room for everyone. A wonderful place for a reception gets two thumbs up from me!

Wedding Weekend in Grand Rapids

I had a wonderful experience coordinating a wedding in Grand Rapids this past weekend! The happy couple Brynna and Nick treated their guests and began their wedding weekend with a modern rehearsal dinner downtown at a very cool place called The Bob.


After setting up their dinner I was lucky enough to have stayed at the JW Marriott located just a block down from The Bob. Along with the family, wedding party, and out of town guests, I was taken away by the very classy setting of the Marriott. Guests staying here can enjoy valet parking, room service, a spa, and much more.



Here are a few photos I snapped from my room window up on the 18th floor. Pretty awesome.

Finally the big event took place at the Kent Country Club. The bride and groom exchanged their vows outside with stunning greens surrounding them. Cocktail hour and the reception took place indoors in one of the club's ballrooms. Everything looked stunning, and the staff was organized and easy to work with.

I had a wonderful experience for my first time being in Grand Rapids, and I look forward to spending some more time there in the future. Congratulations to the bride and groom!

I love this centerpiece! These Calla Lilies make a unique look, and give a romantic feel. It's a perfect DIY project, and won't cost you too much.

Just finished up these bouquets for an upcoming July wedding. The first one is being carried by the Matron of Honor, and the second is what the other bridesmaids will be carrying.
